The breakdown:

Simply put, Utah -3.5 is modest for a Denver Nuggets team that continues to get plagued with injuries. Vlatko Cancar recently went down with a right foot fracture. Against a Jazz team that might only be missing one significant player, the Utah looks primed to take this from the Nuggets on the road and cover the spread. The Jazz are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and are 3-1-1- in their last five meetings with Denver.

On the road this year, the Jazz are an astonishing 13-3, winning their last three on the road by an average margin of 10.6 points. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are an even 7-7 this year following a loss and have lost back-to-back contests on six occasions this year. The Jazz, apart from the loss to the Warriors a few nights ago, have won seven of their last eight. It’s hard to picture them losing this game to a much depleted Denver side, even on the road.

However this outcome all relies on the health of the Jazz. If Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are cleared to go in this one, the Jazz should be favored. The best thing to do here is wait until close to tip-off before deciding where your money goes.

Next up will be Aaron Gordon over 13.5 points. Gordon dropped a 20-piece on the Jazz earlier this season in the loss where Nikola Jokic went out just before halftime due to an injury. In his last 10 games he’s averaged just over that total. At 14.1 points per game, he is just a point shy (13 ppg) over eight matchups against Royce O’Neal. If O’Neal is cleared he will likely be Gordon’s defender. If not, Gordon will be looking at a favorable matchup of Eric Paschall or Rudy Gay. With Barton still struggling to get back to his best, Jokic starting to show fatigue, Gordon needs to be the guy to step up and add a few more buckets, especially against Denver’s division rivals.
