The Nuggets’ loss against the Phoenix Suns was of no surprise, in fact, they now stand with a 2-5 record in the first game of a playoff series since 2018. Denver has always come out flat when given time to get rusty, that being said, the Nuggets have the firepower, the grit, and the talent to win the biggest of games. The question is can they play a full 48 minutes of playoff basketball?
In order to steal this game from the Suns, we will need to see the MVP, Nikola Jokic, with his hand in every category. Expect him to hit the assists prop bet of +6.5 and even look for him to step up on the defensive end and hit the prop bet of +0.5 blocks.
Even if Jokic comes to play his best basketball, so will Chris Paul, make no mistake. Look for Chris Paul to hit the over on the 1.5 total 3 pointers on the game. As the leader of the team, he will be making big-time shots and although his long-distance shooting has been sub-par since his shoulder injury last round, he began to find his stroke in the first game against the Nuggets.
While Denver has not had a good track record in the opening games of series, they are notorious for coming out swinging after being disrespected like they were on Monday. Expect this to be a close game and for the Nuggets to not go quietly.
