The breakdown:

This is going to be a hard matchup any way you slice it. Denver is 9-1 since the Jamal injury, an incredible record considering he was one of the team’s top scorers, even more, incredible now with both Monte Morris out alongside Will Barton. Even with injuries, the Lakers are the number 1 (or 2) defensive rated team (although they haven’t looked the same recently) in the league depending on your sources. LeBron is questionable as this is written, which will play a big factor in the points total, but even with AD back I find 214.5 a bit low which is why I like the over tonight. LeBron is now out so we have seen the live move to Denver -5.

I think this will have to be another really solid defensive performance from Denver regardless if they want to win. The Nuggets managed to keep Leonard and Paul George relatively quiet the other night, and hit the shots needed down the stretch. Tonight, look at PJ Dozier over 10.5 for points due to his increased role in the lineup.

From a Lakers perspective, Anthony Davis will have to have a big part in the game if they want to win, and I think some of that is going to have to come on the glass. Anthony Davis over 6.5 rebounds intrigues me and should be a strong consideration.

The Lakers are coming off 3 straight losses, with Denver surely aiming to make that number 4. Just like you should never underestimate this Nuggets team, a Lakers side with Anthony Davis are also still a team that commands some respect.

Either way, get some skin in the game and enjoy another big matchup on national TV on this Monday night.
