The All-Star break is over, Team Jokic won, and now Nuggets basketball has returned to center stage. Denver’s opponent to start the second half of the season will be the Memphis Grizzlies, lead by Ja Morant with a 6 pm (MST) tip-off.
Unfortunately, not much has changed for Denver over the break. Facundo Campazzo is listed as probable, as well as Markus Howard for our news. The state of Gary Harris, Paul Millsap, JaMychal Green, and RJ Hampton remains the same – all out. For Memphis, Jaren Jackson Jr. is out, and Grayson Allen is listed as probable.

Denver entered the break on a run that had not yet been seen before this season. Four wins out of four, all on the road and of different kinds. There were two blowouts against OKC and Milwaukee, then a slim result against the Bulls, and just an all-around bang average game against the Indiana Pacers. The question remains, can Denver keep this momentum and remain consistent?
It was the trio of Murray back to form, Jokic being Jokic (no more Nolan being Nolan) and MPJ mixing up his game that gave us a spine to get those four road victories. Now, it’s on the rest of the team to continue to step up, and it can be (and should be) somebody new every night who adds that edge on scoring and defense.
Regardless, Denver should pull this one out. As incredible a player as Ja Morant is, and as an Oregon alumnus knowing what Dillon Brooks can do, this team has competed with some of the big boys out there. However, there remains a big gap in terms of who is going to contain Jokic, especially coming off the biggest break he’s had all season. Count on Denver to get the job done here, do not try and guess the final margin though.
