The Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz are set to clash this afternoon at the Ball Arena with tip-off set for 1:30 p.m. MST.

This will be the first matchup of the season between the lone teams to play in the mountain time zone, and the first meeting since the epic playoff matchup in the NBA’s Orlando bubble. The Jazz comes to town red hot. Winners of 11 in a row, Utah currently sits atop the Western Conference.

Roster Updates:

Nothing new for the Nuggets. PJ Dozier is still out with a hamstring injury and Jamal Murray is listed as day-to-day, but don’t expect him to miss any time. On the flip, Utah will be without Trent Forrest and Elijah Hughes for Sunday’s game. Guard Donovan Mitchell and Forward Derrick Favors are also listed as questionable.

The Betting Lines (subject to change):

  • Nuggets -105 on the Moneyline, Utah -118
  • Nuggets opened as -1 favorite ATS but now +1.5 dog
  • Point total opened at 205 and has spiked to 219.5
  • The public is backing the over and the Jazz ATS

Betting Trends from

  • Under is 17-5 in the last 22 meetings in Denver
  • Jazz are 3-9-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Denver
  • Jazz are 1-3-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings
  • Under is 22-10 in the last 32 meetings

The Skinny:

Before we go any further ask yourself this question…. do you want to bet with your head or your heart? You should always bet with your head, but whenever the Nuggets and Jazz throw down it’s impossible not to ride with the home team. These two put together one of the best playoff series in franchise history, with Denver coming out on the winning side of things back in the bubble. You best believe the Jazz still have a bitter taste in their mouths from that collapse, and tonight will be their first opportunity to exact revenge.

The Jazz are playing stellar basketball at the moment, and they’ve done it without their star players. Mitchell and Favors have missed the Jazz last three games, but the team has had no issue holding things down in their place.

Bojan Bogdanović, Joe Ingles, Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert have been sensational as the Jazz continue to throttle every team in their path. The Nuggets will have their hands full, especially if Mitchell and Favors return. That said, the Nuggets are also playing their best basketball of the season. While Denver is coming off a loss to the San Antonio Spurs, the Nuggets enter this matchup winners in five of their last six games, including a 4-1 record on their latest road trip.

Expect a close game. The public is all over the Jazz, but if you want to chase the trends stick with the Nuggets here.  A win here for Denver would be huge as the team works to return to the Western Conference’s upper echelon. Let’s see if the boys can get it done.
