The Nuggets are back in Denver for this one, as they are set to take on the Golden State Warriors at 8 p.m. MST. For those who have been struggling with the streams to watch the games, fret not, as this one is back on national television. The game will air on TNT, which should make the viewing experience much simpler.
The last game was tough, as Denver blew what was at one point an 18-point lead and ended up losing the game by 6 to the Brooklyn Nets. It was in no small part due to the fact that Kevin Durant just turned it on in the third quarter, right as Denver’s defense seemed to forget what got them the lead they had in the first half. There were positives, however, with the second unit making strides and looking much better playing together.
This will be needed consistently and will need to be counted on against the Warriors tonight. With big wins against the L.A. Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers, their record sits at 6-5. It’s not overly impressive, but with a team who struggles to defend the three-ball and an opponent that has Stephen Curry, it will likely be another big test for Denver.
Regardless, the Nuggets opened as -6 point favorites for the spread, with that number now at -5. The total for the game tonight is 229. For reference, this is just below the 230.5 for the matchup against the Nets. The Moneyline for the Nuggets is -200, not worth the risk for the return if you ask me. The public seems to think different overall, with 98% taking that same ML and 57% of bets going towards Denver’s spread.
Here are some other trends to consider thanks to covers.com:
- Over is 9-0 in Nuggets last 9 games playing on 1 days rest.
- Nuggets are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games.
- Nuggets are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest.
- Nuggets are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite.
- Nuggets are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games.
With Michael Porter Jr. still out for safety precautions, and Gary Harris on a day-to-day due to personal reasons, this is another tough one for the defense to prove they can do what it takes to win against a Warriors team that is similarly still working out clogs in the machine and finding stability game to game.
With all that knowledge in mind, happy betting!
