Sports bettors funneled in and out of the sportsbook throughout the night to take in the new digs and place wagers on the Thursday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers.
The Packers won in convincing fashion, 34-17, covering the spread (-6.5) with ease.
The book, which is located on the second floor of the casino, is canvassed with over a dozen TVs, betting kiosks, a bar, video poker machines, two blackjack tables, a roulette table and a 24-foot video wall. Additionally, the Barstool Sportsbook has its own menu of drinks specials and a rotating local beer selection.
With 3,676 square feet, the book can accommodate roughly 75 people in the era of COVID-19. In a perfect world, the sportsbook can hold just under 200 people.
The book is the first physical Bartsool Sportsbook in the country and is sure to be a mecca for Colorado sports fans and bettors who are looking to take their viewing experience up a notch.

Colorado is considered a major battleground for legalized sports betting in the United States. Barstool plans to stand out by offering “weekly Power Hour specials where bettors can take advantage of lines not offered anywhere else.” The book will also feature video content from the Barstool Sports network.
The sportsbook is the first move by the brand in the Colorado market, with a mobile app expected to launch at some point in the next year.
Since sports betting was legalized in May, Colorado has registered just under $500 million in sports wagers. The state generated the fourth-highest betting handle for the month of September among states that have legalized the practice.
Top five U.S. states by sports betting handle in September 2020:
1. New Jersey: $748,5 million
2. Nevada: $575 mil
3. Pennsylvania: $462.7 mil
4. Colorado: $207.6 mil
5. Indiana: $207.4 mil

Located about 45 minutes outside of downtown, the sportsbook is well worth the drive up the hill. Upon arriving, guests will be greeted with a sleek betting lounge with enough entertainment options to keep people glued to their seats for hours.
Barstool may have earned their stripes for their raunchy, rah-rah-like attitude, but their sportsbook extracts the best of the Barstool brand and pairs it with the elegance of the Ameristar property. This makes sense considering Barstool Sports and Ameristar are both partially owned by Penn National Gaming.
The Barstool Sportsbook in Ameristar is the first of many retail locations the brand plans to open across the United States in the coming years. Penn National Gaming purchased a 36% stake of Barstool Sports for $163 million in cash and stock in January 2020 with the intention of developing the brand into the countries top betting outlet, rivaling the likes of Draft Kings and Fan Duel.
Barstool Sports is valued at $450 million, and with droves of “stoolies” across the country, the outlet is in a strong position to dominate the legal sports betting market in the United States and here at home in Colorado.
