What’s On Tap: Sports Betting Slate 10/23/20

After a strange Thursday Night Football game, we have turned the page to Friday with a fresh slate of sports betting!

There are a handful of college football games on tap in addition to Game 3 of the World Series.

Sports betting is 100% legal in Colorado, and it’s time for sports fans to get in on the action! With that, we want to ensure Colorado bettors are educated before laying their money on the line, so be sure to check out DenverSportsBetting.com for daily news, trends, and analysis of sports from a betting perspective by Colorado’s only sports betting centric media outlet.

Let’s take a look at the betting slate for Friday, October 23, 2020.

MLB:

The World Series will continue tonight in Texas with an expected pitchers duel in Game 3. After winning in Game 2, the Tampa Bay Rays will hand the ball to postseason ace Charlie Morton with a chance to take a 2-1 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As noted on MLB.com, the last time Morton pitched in the World Series, he recorded the final out of the 2017 season and crowned the Houston Astros champions. Morton might have a chance to accomplish the same feat if this series goes seven games, but for now, he will be focused on putting his team in a position to take the lead in the series.

Morton has been stellar this postseason, winning all five of his starts and pitching to a 0.70 ERA. Last time out, Morton sent his former team packing for the year. This will be a tough task for the Dodgers, but they will send one of their best pitchers to the mound in Walker Buehler.

Buehler is the face of the Dodgers’ rotation and has been spot on throughout the postseason, logging 29 strikeouts in four starts.

With that, the Dodgers are the -150 betting favorite, which makes the Rays the +134 underdog on the Moneyline. The public is riding with the Dodgers as 58% of public money is heading that was as of this morning.

The run total is set at 7.5 after opening at 8, and public money is split with a pitching war looming.

CFB:

There are a handful of college football games today as well:

  • Jax State +10 on the road versus 0-2 FIU. Total: 57.5
  • Tulsa -10 favorite vs USF. Total: 50.5
  • Illinois +20.5 @ Wisconsin. Total: 51.5
