FOX Bet is one of the top sports betting options in Colorado

Sports betting has been live in Colorado for about a month. While professional sports are still on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, sportsbooks have made inroads within the local community.

One of the newest online sportsbooks to hit the market is FOX Bet Colorado. Boasting an excellent brand reputation within the sports community, FOX Bet is one of the more dynamic sports betting outlets to enter the Colorado marketplace.

Upon downloading the FOX Bet app, Colorado users are greeted with a familiar face: former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe. The 2x Super Bowl champion now works as a multi-media personality for FOX Sports and is a FOX Bet ambassador.

“Bronco Country and Colorado sports fans hold a special place in my heart and mind,” said Sharpe, a FOX Bet ambassador and co-host of FS1’s SKIP AND SHANNON: UNDISPUTED. “Now that FOX Bet is at your fingertips in Colorado, we are primed to make a big splash and enhance the sports viewing experience.”

The concept of sports betting is still new to many people, but sports fans within the Centennial State should develop an understanding of the industry given the impact it is expected to have.

Industry experts are predicting that Colorado could see over $2 billion in total handle during the first year, which would generate more than $12 million in tax revenue for the state.

Despite the lack of professional sports, Colorado’s handle was $25 million for the month of May.

Prior to operating in Colorado, FOX Bet launched in New Jersey and Pennsylvania within 10 days of each other in September 2019.

FOX Bet head of communication, Eddie Motl, spoke with Denver Sports Betting to talk about how the outlet plans to operate within Colorado.

“Expansion into any new state is exciting because it’s an opportunity for us to showcase our unique approach to gaming and engage with sports fans,” Motl said of FOX Bet entering the Colorado market. “Sports in America are tribal and so anytime we get to communicate with a new community, in this case Colorado, it’s an opportunity to learn from those fans and serve them with content tailored to their style. It is significant as we approach a new set of consumers. We are currently operating in Pennsylvania & New Jersey and as you know the west coast has a very different vibe from the northeast.”

Outside of Las Vegas, sports betting is not as widespread in the western part of the country compared to the northeast.

The main reason that Colorado could become a mega-sports betting giant is the fact that full online betting has been legalized. This means that customers can register for a new account, make a deposit, and place bets without ever leaving their home.

Not all states with legal sports betting have these same regulations, but Colorado opted to follow in the steps of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, two states that have thrived in the sports gaming industry.

The FOX brand has been a staple in North American sports media for decades, and the legalization of sports betting has allowed the outlet to further its reach. Being that FOX already boasts a stacked lineup of local and national sports programming, FOX Bet brings a polished and trusted feel to the sports gaming community.

“Our business is different,” Motl said. ”We are sports first, betting second. Overall, our goal is to make betting part of the sports narrative and the sports viewing journey in America. We know from experience that this has proven to enhance the enjoyment of sports and increase engagement. Through our relationship with FOX Sports/FS1 and when done skillfully, betting information can enable sports media companies to increase their reach and engagement as well.”

FOX Bet does not plan to open a physical sportsbook in Denver. Instead, the outlet will focus on operating through its digital platforms.

FOX Bet Super 6, a free-to-play game, launched ahead of the 2019-2020 NFL season. The game allows casual sports bettors to get a piece of the action. Come next football season, FOX Bet Super 6 could be a good option for sports fans who do not have much betting experience to learn about the way it works.

The first year of legal sports betting will be competitive time for sportsbooks in Denver, and FOX Bet is rolling out some sweet promos to win over Colorado sports bettors.

FOX Bet welcomes Colorado-based sports fans to the platform with an exclusive offer: get $10 free every time Denver wins when you bet on them to have a winning season. Additionally, FOX Bet gives new users a $500 risk-free first bet and offers wagers on all major sports in North America and international sporting events.

Fox Bet seems like it will be a great sportsbook for Denver Colorado. Denver is starting to get a lot of quality sportsbooks and it is great for the sports teams here like the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rockies and Colorado Avalanche. Still can’t believe sports betting is here in Denver.
