A look at the current sports betting landscape

By Jackson Wieger, Contributor to

If you’re like us here at Denver Sports Betting, the long hiatus throughout the spring without sports has been heart-wrenching. Things are starting to crawl back to life during the COVID-19 pandemic, and above anything else, sports are slowly coming back.

We want to make things as easy and clear as possible when it comes to what sports/leagues to bet on during these uncertain times.

There have been a number of leagues operating for some time, and if you are looking to take some action on the local sports book, miss following sports, or just curious; here are the sports that are currently operating.

The Sports/Leagues currently underway:

Baseball – CPBL (China)
Basketball – Esports NBA2k
Darts – Czech Premier League
Darts – Remote League

News about the BIG 4 (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL)

NBA – The NBA is flirting with the idea of starting games back up in late July and per NBA Chief Communications Officer Mike Bass: The NBA is looking to Disney’s ESPN campus in Orlando, FL in bringing all NBA games at their site to be played in a safe and controlled environment.

NHLNHL Commissioner, Gary Bettman vcame out on May 26 and proclaimed that all the stats as of March 11th are frozen and that the regular season has concluded. The NHLPA approved a 24-team playoff scenario that could be used if more logistics can be figured out to resume playing sometime this summer.

MLB – The MLB and MLB Players association are gridlocked in discussions about the return of baseball and how it will affect the players’ salaries. Neither side has made much progress as of yet, and the issues of player safety during the spread of COVID-19 has become another big concern.

NFL – So far, the NFL hasn’t had much pressure to come up with a strict plan of attack for the 2020 season, as it’s only May. It seems like the NFL will most likely be ready to have a season in 2020 but the logistics of who’s allowed to attend those games are still up in the air.

Great article on on the sports betting landscape. I just so excited for sports betting to be legal in Colorado and to be able to bet on the Denver Nuggets, Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Rockies.

Really cool article on the current sports betting environment. Sports betting may not be back in Denver, Colorado yet, but I will say sports betting on the Bundesliga makes for some great bets, think it was something like only one of the home teams won their game! Now we just have to await the return of the Denver Nuggets, Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado Rockies.
