Nuggets at Spurs Game 6 Betting Preview

Nuggets at Spurs Game 6 Betting Preview

By Cliff Rodriguez @Crod303

On the road, in an arena that has yielded your team just 1 victory in the last 6 years. Matched up against a coaching legend with a veteran led team. Can the youngest team in the playoffs find a way to close out their opening round series in game 6….?

The Denver Nuggets have been able to take control of their first-round match up with San Antonio Spurs. But they have been tested every step of the way. Losing game 1 at home when you had the best home record in the league must put a bad taste in your mouth. Being forced to win on the road in an arena that 90% of your roster has never won at seems like a large feat. The first experience in the playoffs for any young team can be daunting; but having to go against arguably the most seasoned team must be intimidating.

Faced with all this adversity, the Nuggets find themselves 1 game away from moving on to the next round. Make no mistake, San Antonio will not lay down the red carpet in game 6. The Nuggets have obviously taken control of the series in every aspect and have done it in dominating fashion. However, this is young team experiencing playoff basketball for the first time. They are learning on the fly. They have never closed out a series before. The Spurs have been there and done it all before. The Spurs won’t be nervous or intimidated by the task at hand in game 6. Get ready for a battle, game 6 is not only the biggest game this young Nuggets team has ever been in; this is a rite of passage they need to overcome in order to take the next step in the ascension of their roster among the elite teams in the NBA.

Quick stats for thought before wagers are made

  1. The Spurs are 15-10-2 Against the Spread (ATS) as a home favorite coming of a road loss.
  2. Denver is 3-7 ATS in it’s last 10 road games
  3. Denver is 45-42 ATS in 2019
  4. San Antonio is 45-41-1 ATS in 2019
  5. San Antonio is 25-18 ATS at home in 2019
  6. The Over/Under has dropped to 208.5 the lowest game total since game 1
  7. The Nuggets have shot 46% from 3point range in San Antonio this season
  8. Derek White is +32 in the 2 Spurs wins and -28 in the 3 losses

This series does have 7 games written all over it. Don’t be shocked if San Antonio catches a young Denver team sleeping and pulls off a victory. Denver must whether an early storm and keep this game close at the half in order to have a chance to win at the end. This game will come down to rebounding, free throws and if we are lucky a last second game wining shot.

The Plays

Look at the Under 208.5. This is a close out game for Denver and a must win for the Spurs, Defense and physical play should led to a lower point total. Denver at +3 I think the Nuggets are in full control of this series and I think it ends tonight in close fashion. Denver for the win 103-101.
